If there's one man who could capture the spirit of the J.R.R. Tolkien novels about middle earth it would be Peter Jackson, He knows his way around middle earth and I'm glad that he's the director. Ther title is "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and it's the prequel to "The Lord of the Rings" and like Rings, the Hobbit will be split into three movies. Part one is slow going with the first hour is kind of dull expect a dragon attacking a village. From hour two, it all takes off as Bilbo and the 13 other dwarves are on a mission. There are some great moments. The scene between Biblo and Gollen was way too long. The first Hobbit film got off to a slow start and I hope it can pick up in the second movie, I saw the movie in 2D because seeing it in 3D or in the combind IMAX / 3D format does no justice to the movie. Seeing it in 2D is good enough for me.

The movie was good, I will be waiting for the next one. But, I will not waste the extra money on the 3-D.

Whoa doggie is this one enchanting. You've got to be a stone not to be taken into the film. The special effects alone (see the 3-D version) will blow you away. It's creative, gorgeous photography, fast-paced. Ya don't have to have read the book to enjoy the film. The photography is rich, the characters endearing, and the suspense is on-the-edge of your seat.
