The Cineplanet 16 in Atoka, Tennessee has closed.

Located northeast of Memphis on the corner of US Highway 51 and Atoka-Munford Road, the sixteen-screen movie theater was operated by Cinema Management Group Inc. The last time we received showtimes for the theater was Friday, May 16, 2025, so its last day was likely this past weekend. News of the theater's closure has been posted on the theater's page on the company's website:

After much consideration, we regret to inform you that CINEPLANET 16 CINEMAS is closed. We want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your incredible support over the years. Your loyalty, trust, and patronage have meant the world to us. It's been an honor to serve you, and we are grateful for the relationships we've built along the way.

The company operates the Hollywood 16 in Jackson, which is more than 60 miles east of Atoka.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Malco Stage Cinema Grill in Bartlett, the Malco Wolfchase Cinema Grill in Memphis, and the Hollywood 20 Cinema in Bartlett.
