The AMC Classic Lee Branch 15 in Birmingham, Alabama has closed.

Located about 25 miles southeast of downtown Birmingham along US Highway 280, the movie theater's last day of operation was Sunday, March 23, 2025. AMC Theatres no longer lists the theater on its website. According to multiple news reports (see list below), the building is destined to become a gym.

Theater History

The movie theater originally opened in June 2004 as the Rave Motion Pictures Lee Branch 15. It was sold to Carmike in October 2012 and was renamed to the Carmike Lee Branch 15. It became the AMC Lee Branch 15 in April 2017 after AMC acquired Carmike Cinemas. By May 2021, it was known as the AMC Classic Lee Branch 15, which is what the company branded many of its older operations (largely the former Carmike locations).

Where to Watch Movies on the Big Screen

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the AMC Summit 16 in Birmingham, the AMC Dine-In Vestavia Hills 10 in Vestavia Hills, and the AMC Patton Creek 15 in Hoover.
