The Miller Theatres in Blue Springs, Missouri has closed.
Located less than a mile north of I-70 on NW State Route 7, the eight-screen movie theater's last day of operation was May 1, 2025. It announced its closure on its social media page with the following message:
The Miller Theatres family has enjoyed being part of the community and sharing memories and movies with you and your family.
After Covid, Hollywood has failed to consistently release quality and quantity film product. As a result, it has became increasingly difficult for small independent theatre locations such as ours to survive and thrive in this environment. Therefore, the owners have decided to change direction.
Effective Thursday, May 1, Miller Theatres in Blue Springs will be closing.
We want to thank Blue Springs and surrounding communities for their support and patronage over the years. We will always together hold the love of movies in our hearts.Thank you,

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the AMC Independence Commons 20 in Independence, the B & B Grain Valley Marketplace 8 & GS in Grain Valley, and the Pharaoh Cinema 4 in Independence.
Theater History
According to our records, the theater originally opened in October 1987 as the MidAmerica Cinema. It was taken over by AMC Theaters in 1989, which then sold it to Crown Cinemas, which became Wallace Theatres. It was sold to Dickinson Theatres and opened as the Dickinson Blue Springs 8 in March 2002. It closed in October 2012 amid Dickinson's bankruptcy proceedings. The theater was taken over by Colorado Mountains Cinemas as the Blue Springs 8 Theatre on October 12, 2012. It became the Miller Theatres in 2013.
