The Flagship Cinemas - Cambridge Premium Cinemas in Cambridge, Maryland has closed temporarily because of a fire at the movie theater. Fire crews were dispatched to the theater in the Dorchester Square shopping center off Route 50 on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

The theater's website and Facebook page featured messages today that the theater was temporarily closed until further notice:

Due to unforeseen technical difficulties we will be temporarily closed until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to reopening soon!

Any online presales will be automatically refunded.  Any in person tickets should be redeemed for readmit passes once we reopen. Any questions or concerns can be directed to info@flagshipcinemas.com

Thank you

An article published today in The Star Democrat (see below), a popcorn machine caught fire, causing smoke to pour out the theater's doors. Fire crews extinguished the fire, which was minimized due to a sprinkler system.

We're not sure how long the theater will be closed while they clean up and replace damaged equipment, so we're continuing to publish the theater's showtimes that they send us. If you are planning to attend the theater, please check the theater's website and social media for more information.

Where to Watch Movies on the Big Screen

Until it reopens, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Flagship Cinemas - Easton Premium Cinemas in Easton and the Regal Salisbury in Salisbury.
