When the Cinemark movie theater closed in the Chino Promenade shopping center in Chino, California, it forced moviegoers to go elsewhere to see movies on the big screen. That changes tomorrow, however, as the movie theater is reopening under new management!

Located on Philadelphia Street near Central Avenue, the Maya Cinemas Chino 8 is opening Thursday, December 18, 2025. This is the seventh location for Maya Cinemas North America, Inc., which opened its first location in 2005.

Until now, moviegoers in the area needed to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Harkins Chino Hills 18 in Chino Hills, the AMC Dine-in Montclair 12 & IMAX in Montclair, and the Regal Edwards Ontario Mountain Village in Ontario.

Amenities

The company's website does not have a full list of amenities at the new theater, so we don't know for sure if any improvements were made during the three-week downtime, but we do see "laser projection" on every showtime, and there are 3D showtimes as well.
