Moviegoers in Clarksville, Tennessee lost one of the two theaters in town last year, and the hopes that a new operator would scoop up the movie theater in the Governor's Square Mall have come to fruition.
Located in the Governor's Square Mall near I-24 and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard (Highway 79), the AMC Classic Governor's Square 10 closed in August 2024 when AMC decided not to renew its lease for this location.
The good news is that the Phoenix Theatres - Governor's Square Mall is expected to open later this year. According to the website for Phoenix Theatres, the movie theater is coming in "Summer 2025" and will have the following amenities:
- heated reclining seats with 75" of legroom
- 4K digital projection systems and Dolby Digital sound
- Dolby Atmos sound systems in some auditoriums
The website also has a gallery of photos and a drawing to win a year's supply of movie tickets. You can find a link to that site on the Related Sites page for the Phoenix Theatres - Governor's Square Mall.
To stay updated on the theater, you can add it to your Favorite Theaters list.
Where to Watch Movies on the Big Screen
Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Clarksville & RPX in Clarksville and the Showbox Theater in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
