Theater History
As far as we could find, the theater originally opened in the early 1970s. The theater was once known as the Dickinson Mall 8 - Hays. Showplex Cinemas purchased 10 Dickinson Theatres locations, incluing the one in Hays, in 2010 and its name was changed to the Mall 8 Hays. Starplex Cinemas acquired ShowPlex Cinemas in 2013 and it became the Starplex Cinemas - Hays 8. AMC acquired Starplex Cinemas in 2016 and it was then called the AMC Hays 8. It was rebranded in 2017 to the AMC Classic Hays 8.
