The Loco Drive-In in Loudon, Tennessee showed its last movies of the 2024 season last August, but fans of outdoor movies will be sad to hear that the drive-in movie theater will not reopen in 2025.

The theater posted the following message last week to its Facebook page:

Thank you for your support over the past several years. We are sad to announce that The LoCo Drive-in is permanently closing. We have had so much fun with you all, whether you came just once or lots of times. We’d like to give a special shout-out to our sweet staff, loyal customers and vendors. We are grateful for the adventure!

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Pinnacle ScreenX, 4DX, IMAX & RPX in Knoxville and the Cinemark Tinseltown USA - Oak Ridge in Oak Ridge. The closest drive-in theaters are the Midway Drive-In in Athens and the Parkway Drive-In in Maryville.
