The Baxter Avenue Filmworks in Louisville, Kentucky has closed.
Located behind the Mid City Mall on Bardstown Road, the movie theater's last day of operation was December 31, 2025. Based on recent news reports (see below), the theater's closure had something to do with uncertainty surrounding the mall's future.
The theater was operated by Apex Entertainment, LLC., which also operated the Village 8 Theatres in Louisville, which closed in 2022.
Where to Watch Movies on the Big Screen
Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Kentucky Science Center Theater and the Cinemark Mall St. Matthews & XD.
