The Regal Cinebarre Movieland in Salem, Oregon will be closing soon, but the owners of the building have plans for a sequel.

Located in the Salem Center on Marion Street and High Street in downtown Salem, the movie theater's last day will be May 11, 2025. Regal's Cinebarre locations offer in-theater dining with restaurant-quality food items.

Regal has made the decision to close Cinebarre at Salem Center Mall—but we’re not letting this story end here.

We know how much this theater means to our community, so we’re stepping in to bring it back—better than ever.

After a remodel, this space will reopen as an independent movie theater with updated technology, recliner seats, and a fresh new feel—designed with our local families and movie lovers in mind.

We’re doing everything we can to reopen quickly and can’t wait to welcome you back to the movies!  

There's no mention of when the theater might reopen, but a full remodel could take several months.

Showtimes and Tickets

The theater will remain open until Sunday, May 11 so there is still time to see a movie before it closes! To see what's playing and when, and to buy tickets online, please visit the Showtimes page for the Regal Cinebarre Movieland.

After Sunday, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Elsinore Theatre (which largely hosts live performances) and the Salem Cinema in Salem. If you have Regal gift cards to use, the closest Regal locations are the Regal Willamette Town Center and the Regal Santiam which are about three miles away just east of I-5.
