When the Ark Lodge Cinemas in Seattle, Washington closed last year, it left a gap in the city for independent film options. However, the theater reopened recently under new management.

Located about five miles south of downtown Seattle on Rainier Avenue South, the Tasveer Film Center had its soft opening on Friday, February 13, 2026. It is being operated by Tasveer, which intends to "inspire social change through though-provoking South Asian films, art, and storytelling."
