The Ski-Hi 6 Theatre in Alamosa, Colorado has a new operator. As of October 1, 2024, Allen Theatres has taken over the movie theater, which is now known as the Allen Theatres - Ski-Hi 6.

The company is based in New Mexico, which now has seventeen locations in New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona. It can trace its history back to 1912 when Frank Allen opened the Allen Opera House in Farmington. That structure burned down in 1922, but the company lived on.

According to a news article published recently in The Monte Vista Journal (see below), the company plans several upgrades to its newest acquisition, including improved concessions and luxury seating.
