The Tascosa Drive-In in Amarillo, Texas has closed.

The following announcement was posted to the theater's Facebook page on October 25, 2023:

End of a Era for Tascosa Drive-In Theater

I am informing you with a heavy heart this will be the TDI’s last season. It has been a honor and a privilege to serve most all of you. Your support has allowed me to do what I truly loved for a quarter century. To show you my gratitude, I want to host a farewell party and go out in style. On October 27th, this Friday night admission price will be $10.00 carload and all concessions will cost $1.00, that’s not a misprint. All hotdogs, Nachos, Cokes, and Popcorn, $1.00. This Friday 7pm, $10 carload, $1 concessions and a mystery Halloween movie for the family. The movie will be a Halloween family favorite with a PG rating.. Come join us one last time this Friday at 7:00pm.

P.S. If you have the drive and want to keep this theater running I will sale to the right person.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Cinergy - Amarillo and the Cinemark Hollywood 16 - Amarillo in Amarillo. The closest drive-in movie theater is the Sandell Drive-in, which is over 50 miles away in Clarendon.
