Amazon.com Offering "Buy 2 Blu-ray Discs, Get 1 Free" Sale, Plus National Treasure Bundle for Great Price

Posted on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 4:18 PM

Gift Shop merchant Amazon.com offers some of the best prices available on DVDs and high definition Blu-ray discs, either online or in retail stores.

Some thought that with the end of the HD DVD format, the previous sales that Amazon and other retailers ran on Blu-ray discs in the past would disappear, but that doesn't seem to be the case!

Amazon.com is currently offering a "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" promotion, with 58 titles part of the promotion! Some of the highlights from the list:

  • Blade Runner (Five-Disc Complete Collector's Edition)
  • 300
  • The Departed
  • Ocean's Thirteen
  • more...

This sale goes through Friday, April 18th. If the past is any indicator, the supplies are limited, so the number of titles that are part of this sale may vary.

They are also offering an exclusive bundle of the hit movies National Treasure and National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets on Blu-ray. It is available now for pre-order at a special price of $39.99.

This exclusive bundle of both National Treasure movies will be released on May 20,2008.
It's available from Amazon.com for a special price of $39.99.

Considering that each disc sells for $23.95 separately on Amazon (list price is $35 each!), this is a pretty good deal!

Amazon.com isn't saying how long this price will be in effect, but they do guarantee that if the price goes down between the time you purchase it and when it is released, you'll automatically receive the lower price.

As I said, Amazon.com usually has the lowest price I've seen on DVD's and Blu-ray discs. There are times when the big box retailers will offer drastically discounted prices on the first week of release on some DVD's, but I've never seen better prices on Blu-ray discs in local stores.

You can browse through DVD, Blu-ray, and HD DVD titles on the Movies page in the Gift Shop, or you can go directly to the Blu-ray page on Amazon.com to see their full selection.
