The AMC Classic Apple Valley 15 in Apple Valley, Minnesota has closed.

Located on Cedar Avenue just north of 157th Street West, about 20 miles south of downtown Minneapolis, the theater last provided its showtimes on November 4, 2022. The AMC website now displays the following message:

AMC CLASSIC Apple Valley 15 Has Permanently Closed

We hope to see you at our next nearest location: AMC Southdale 16

The theater opened December 18, 1998 as the Carmike 15 - Apple Valley. It became the AMC Classic Apple Valley 15 in March 2017 after AMC acquired Carmike Cinemas. The building was posted for sale in September 2020 and a news article from this June (see below) mentioned that a home materials store is planning to raze the building and put up a new store.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the CMX Odyssey IMAX in Burnsville and the Marcus Rosemount Cinema in Rosemount and the Emagine Eagan in Eagan. Of course, AMC would like you to visit the AMC Southdale 16 in Edina, which is about twelve miles away. If you have an AMC gift card to use, it's the closest AMC location to Apple Valley.
