The Cheap Flicks in Battle Creek, Michigan has closed. The theater's web site displayed the following message from owners John and Michelle Herzing:

We want to thank the Battle Creek community for allowing us to serve you for 13 wonderful years. Due to an evolution in the film industry that has made sub-run and 35 mm movie houses obsolete, we have made the decision to retire from the movie business as of August 31, 2014. Thank you, again, for your loyalty and support.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit the Goodrich W. Columbia 7 Theater, which is less than a mile away, or the Carmike Lakeview Square Cinemas, which is located south of I-94 in the Lakeview Square Mall.
