The AMC Classic Churchville 7 in Bel Air, Maryland has closed, but a new operator is coming soon. Located next to the Campus Hills shopping center on Churchville Road, the movie theater's last day of operation was April 14, 2024.

The good news for the theater's former customers is that Flagship Premium Cinemas appears to be coming in to operate this location. On April 11, the X/Twitter account for Flagship Cinemas posted the following message:

“Cinema is not dead! We are looking forward to not only filling a cinematic void for the community but offering a luxury and family-friendly theater experience for the area.” - Paul Wenger, President of Flagship Premium Cinemas

This is a bit of a full circle moment for the movie theater. In early 2014, it was known as the Flagship Cinemas - Churchville when it was sold to Digital Cinema Destinations Corp. (Digiplex). Flagship Cinemas currently operates 18 locations in Maine, Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania. The company now lists the Churchville location as coming soon, but no specific opening date is mentioned. An article published recently by WMAR (see list below) mentions a fall timeframe.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Horizon Cinemas - Aberdeen in Aberdeen, the Horizon Cinemas - Fallston in Fallston, and the AMC White Marsh 16 in White Marsh.
