The Belleview Cinemas in Belleview, Florida has closed.

Located in the Belleview Square shopping center along US Highway 441, the theater announced the news on its Facebook page on Monday, January 16, 2023:

Due to the current state of the movie industry, Belleview Cinema is PERMENATLY CLOSED and will not be reopening.

Dating back to 1977 when it opened as the Belleview Square Twins, the movie theater was purchased in May 2004 from StarNet Theaters by Dickinson Theatres. It was taken over by Cesar Soto on November 2, 2007. It closed in March 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and was reopened under new ownership in September 2020.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Ocala Drive-In, the Ocala Cinemas, and the Regal Hollywood 16 & IMAX in Ocala.
