The Phoenix Theatres - The Edge 12 in Birmingham, Alabama closed April 2, 2023.

Located on Crestwood Boulevard in the Festival Shopping Center next to Home Depot, the theater posted the following message on its website:

The Edge 12 is permanently closed.

Kudos to Phoenix Theatres Entertainment, LLC for offering refunds for gift cards, as there aren't any other locations operated by the company for more than 50 miles.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Sidewalk Film Center and Cinema and the AMC Summit 16.

Theater History

According to our records, the theater originally opened May 23, 1989 as the Festival 12. It expanded to 18 screens in 1994, opening as the Festival 18 on March 18, 1994. It became the Regal Festival 18 in 1997. It was later known as The Edge 12 under the management of Naos Entertainment. Phoenix Theatres Entertainment, LLC took over in July 2016 and it was renamed to the Phoenix Theatres - The Edge 12.
