The AMC Classic Bluefield 8 at the Mercer Mall in Bluefield, West Virginia has closed. Its last day of operation was Sunday, February 26, 2023.
According to our records, the theater was originally opened in 1990 by Manos Quality Theaters (Manos Enterprises Inc.) as the Cinema 8. When Carmike Cinemas took over in 1993, it became the Carmike Cinema 8 - Bluefield. After AMC acquired Carmike Cinemas in April 2017, it was known as the AMC Classic Bluefield 8.
Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Granada Theater in Bluefield, the Pipestem Drive-In in Athens, and the Marquee Cinemas - Wytheville 8 in Wytheville, Virginia. If you have an AMC gift card to use, the closest location is the AMC Classic Roanoke 10, which is about two hours away.
