The Bow Tie Cinemas American Theater in Bronx, New York closed this week. News 12 Bronx published a story recently that said that Bow Tie Cinemas could not renew the theater's lease:

Bronx community members are outraged over the closing of a popular movie theater on East Avenue in Parkchester.

The management at Bow Tie Cinemas sent News 12 a statement saying that their lease cannot be renewed.

The theater's closure follows the fate of the Whitestone Multiplex Cinemas which closed in June, and leaves just three theaters within five miles: the AMC Bay Plaza Cinema 13 at I-95 and Hutchinson River Pkwy, the Concourse Plaza Multiplex Cinemas on East 161st Street, and the Coliseum Cinemas on West 181st Street at Broadway.
