The NCG - Courtland Cinemas in Burton, Michigan closed September 27, 2021.

The six-screen movie theater was located in the Courtland Center Mall at I-69 and South Center Road, about three miles east of downtown Flint.

The website for parent company NCG Cinemas shows the following message when visiting the page for the now-closed location:

NCG Courtland is now permanently closed.

Thank you for allowing us to serve the Burton community over the years.

NCG Cinema Courtland has been honored to bring a positive moviegoing experience to the Burton community for the past 10 years. We have truly enjoyed serving our neighbors here. While it was a very difficult decision, we have decided to permanently close NCG Cinema Courtland effective Monday, September 27th, 2021. We’d like to thank the entire Burton community for its support and patronage over the past decade.

The theater originally opened as a single screen location in 1969. Twinning and other expansions increased the screen count to six, until it closed as the Courtland Center Cinemas in January 2009. It was opened by NCG Cinemas in May 2011 as the NCG - Courtland.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Capitol Theatre, the US 23 Drive-in Theater, and the Cinemark Flint West 14 in Flint. If you are willing to travel a little further, the two closest NCG locations are the NCG - Grand Blanc @ Trillium (seven miles away) and NCG - Lapeer Cinemas (fifteen miles away).
