A "closed" sign will be posted soon at the Carmel Cinema in Carmel, New York.

Located in the Carmel ShopRite Plaza on Route 52, the theater announced recently that it would be closing later this month:

The Carmel Cinema would like to thank our loyal customers for the past 15 years of business. We regret to inform you that the cinema will be closing at the end of the month. Our last day of business will be Thursday, May 29, 2025.

The message says that gift cards can be used or exchanged for cash at the theater prior to its closure. They can be used or redeemed for cash at any time at the Bank Street Theater in New Milford.

Afterward, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal UA Cortlandt Town Center in Mohegan Lake and the JCC in Sherman in Sherman, Connecticut.
