Cary, NC: Cobb CinéBistro at Waverly Place Now Open

Posted on Monday, September 14th, 2015 1:40 PM

Cobb Theatres logoThe Cobb CinéBistro at Waverly Place in Cary, North Carolina opened to the public on September 4, 2015, according to an article published in The News & Observer:

CinéBistro will open its movie theater with a fine dining twist Friday, Sept. 4, the theater has announced.

CinéBistro’s 35,000-square-foot space is opening in Waverly Place, offering a foodie menu, luxury seating and what theater owners hope will be more than a typical movie-going experience.

Everything is custom built, including the electric recliners, theater officials said at a media preview in July. The screens are hung at just the right height so those in the back row with their seats fully reclined can still see the action.

The theater is geared toward adults with a menu more suited to adult tastes and an indoor/outdoor bar with a wide selection of wines, liquors and craft beers. The bar and dining area is open to those who may not be watching a movie.

The Cobb Theatres web site describes the CinéBistro as follows:

CinéBistro is a world-class “dinner and a movie” concept developed by Cobb Theatres. We offer a pampering movie-going experience with amenities such as reserved seating in cozy, over-sized reclining leather seats, full-service in-theatre dining and state-of-the art movie viewing. Enjoy Chef prepared American Bistro cuisine, fine wines and signature cocktails served in an environment like no other.

Guests come first at CinéBistro, so guests can choose to dine in our restaurant and bar if not seeing a movie and are never required to order dinner when seeing a movie. We also offer traditional movie concessions such as fresh popped popcorn and candies.

The doors open 30 minutes before the first showtime each day, and you must arrive 30 minutes before your showtime for in-theatre dining. The theater's web site highlights the following amenities:

  • Reserved theatre seating & in-seat service
  • Leather recliners
  • Online and in-theatre ticketing
  • Digital cinema with 3D capabilities
  • Chef created full menu
  • Bar and Lounge
  • Premium cocktails and extensive wine menu

The CineBistro's location was previously a fitness club before renovations turned it into Cary's newest movie theater. Before that, it was the Carmike Waverly Place Cinema 6, which closed in 2000 or 2001.

This is the eighth CineBistro location for Cobb Theatres, which now has 21 theaters in six states. The theater's nearby competition includes the Regal Crossroads Stadium 20 & IMAX and The Cary Theater, as well as thirteen other movie theaters within ten miles, but only the Frank Theatres - Parkside Town Commons Stadium 11 & Xtreme on the west side of Cary offers the dinner-with-a-movie experience with their CineBowl & Grille.
