The Roosevelt Collection shopping center in the South Loop area of Chicago, Illinois has been without a movie theater since last July, but that should be changing soon.

Located along Roosevelt Road near South Clark Street, about a mile west of Soldier Field and the Field Museum, the movie theater was known as the Kerasotes Chicago ShowPlace ICON at Roosevelt Collections until it closed in July 2024 when Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres, LLC. announced that it was closing all its locations.

In November, news reports (see below) announced that AMC Theatres will be opening what will be called the AMC Roosevelt Collection 16 in "the first quarter of 2025." We have seen reports that job openings at the movie theater were found in mid-February, so we're hoping that means that we'll be seeing details about it opening soon.

Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the AMC Dine-in Theatres Block 37 and the AMC 600 North Michigan 9.
