The Chilton Twilight Drive-In in Chilton, Wisconsin has shown its last movie.

Located in the parking lot of a former WalMart on the south side of Chilton along Highway 57, the drive-in movie theater has been showing movies under the stars since 2012, when Get Reel, Inc. built the operation. The company operates the Chilton Cinema and the De Pere Cinema.

The last movie of the season was shown in late September 2024, and the theater's closure was announced on its Facebook page at the end of October:

25 years ago Vicki and I purchased the Depere cinema and Chilton indoor shortly after. 13 years ago we were approached to open a drive-in and the Chilton Twilight DI was off and running. .It has been an amazing journey. We have so many great memories and always worked to bring family friendly affordable movies to the Twilight. Although we will keep running our Depere and Clilton indoors cinemas Vicki and I will not be renewing our lease for a 14th season at the Twilight. We appreciate all our loyal movie going families and hope to see you at our indoor locations.

If you've ever dreamed of operating a drive-in movie theater, now is your chance! The message ended with a mention that the property owner is interested in renting the drive-in.

We have quite a few photos from a 2019 visit to the drive-in, and you can view them in the Photo Gallery for the Chilton Twilight Drive-In.

Where to See Movies Now That the Drive-in is Gone

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Chilton Cinema in Chilton and the Marcus Valley Grand Cinema in Appleton. If it's the open air experience you crave, the closest drive-in is the Field of Scenes Drive-In in Freedom, which is about a 30 mile drive (just north of Kaukana and Appleton).
