The AMC Classic Governor's Square 10 in Clarksville, Tennessee has closed.

Located in the Governor's Square Mall near I-24 and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard (Highway 79), the movie theater's last day of operation was August 25, 2024. All is not lost, however, as an article published recently by Clarksville Now (see below) mentions that the mall is hoping to find a new operator.

Theater History

According to our records, the theater originally opened December 9, 1988 as the Cinema 5 under the management of Rand Theatres. Unfortunately, it closed in 1989. It opened again in February 1990 as the Carmike Cinema 5. Five screens were added in 2005 and it was renamed as the Carmike Governor's Square 10. It became the AMC Governor's Square 10 in February 2017 after AMC acquired Carmike Cinemas. In May 2021, it was known as the AMC Classic Governor's Square 10.

Where to Find Movies on the Big Screen

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Clarksville & RPX in Clarksville and the Showbox Theater in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. If you have AMC gift cards to use, the closest location is the AMC Bellevue 12 in Nashville, which is about 40 miles away.
