The Showcase Cinema de Lux Legacy Place in Dedham, Massachusetts held a relaunch celebration event on December 14, 2019.

The celebration was to draw attention to a recently completed multimillion dollar renovation at the theater, which is located near the intersection of Providence Highway (Route 1) and Route 128/Interstate 95 (view map of area surrounding theater). It originally opened in 2009.

The theater's web site highlights the following amenities:

  • Showcase XPlus Laser
This appears to be Showcase's Premium Large Format (PLF) offering, which features a dual laser-powered projection system and Dolby Atmos immersive sound. According to a press release from National Amusements, this is the only dual-laser XPlus auditorium in the circuit. All fifteen auditoriums have laser projection systems.

  • Lux Level
Four auditoriums offer Lux Level, which offers in-theater dining with reserved seating with heated seats. The dining menu includes appetizers, salads, flatbread pizzas, sandwiches and wraps, and burgers, topped off by desserts, signature cocktails, wines, and beer selections. The Lux Level is available to guests 21 and older.

  • The Studio
A cafe concept in the lobby that offers Starbucks coffee selections, craft cocktails, and a gourmet food menu.

"It's technologically advanced, incredibly comfortable and larger than life, so it's fitting that Showcase Cinema de Lux Legacy Place is re-launching with the 'Star Wars' Marathon and the opening of the latest franchise film – a cultural event that embodies the same qualities as our theater," said Mark Malinowski, Vice President of Global Marketing for Showcase Cinemas. "With the XPlus premium large format, laser projection, power recliners, Lux Level and a new Café concept, this theater is everything a modern movie-goer could want!"

All movies were just $5 that day, and there were games, food, and other entertainment, including airbrush tattoos, photobooth, and balloon twisting.
