The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema + Drive-In - Fayetteville in Fayetteville, Arkansas is expected to open this year. Alamo's first location in Arkansas was announced in February 2023, and is on the site of the former 112 Drive In Theatre, which closed in 2022.

It's been over a year since we covered this project, so it seemed like a good time to review what amenities will be offered. The key attraction for the new operation is the outdoor movie screen that will bring back watching movies under the stars to Fayetteville, but there is a traditional movie theater here as well.

• 4K Digital Cinema Projection systems with HFR (High Frame Rate) capability
• 7.1 channel Dolby surround sound
• "The Big Show" premium auditorium with Dolby Atmos immersive sound
• Full food selections, including appetizers, entrees, desserts
• Full bar options including cocktails, draft beers, and milkshakes
• Cocktail bar and outdoor beer garden with a view of the drive-in screen

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has more than 40 locations around the country. While this is the first one with a drive-in that we're aware of, it's in keeping with the company offering unique moviegoing experiences for its guests. Offering a drive-in on the site of a former drive-in is a nice referential nod to the past and a way to offer the drive-in experience for people in the area. The next closest drive-in is the Sunset Drive-In in Aurora, Missouri, which is almost 70 miles away and not really a viable option.

Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Malco Razorback Cinema and the AMC Fiesta Square 12.
