We have added two new searches to our Advanced Search tool. The first is for finding Movies Playing in ScreenX and the second is for Movies Playing in 4DX.

About ScreenX

ScreenX uses multiple projectors to display a 270 degree panoramic image which covers the sidewalls of the auditorium as well as the primary screen in front of you. The result is an immersive experience that can be very impressive. We first experienced ScreenX at the first such installation in Wisconsin in September 2023 and you can read our comments in the article titled Our ScreenX Experience at Marcus Ridge Cinemas, Wisconsin's First ScreenX Installation.

The company behind ScreenX recently stated that there are over 360 ScreenX auditoriums around the world. To make it easy for our readers to find where in the United States to watch a movie in ScreenX, we created the new tool, which currently lists five different movies playing in 76 movie theaters:

About 4DX

4DX is described as a "multi-sensory cinema-going experience, allowing audiences to connect with movies through motion, vibration, water, wind, snow, lightning, scents, and other special effects that enhance the visuals on-screen." The seats move in sync with the on-screen action, turning the movie-watching experience into something much more involving.

Search for Movies Playing in 4DX

When you use either of these search tools, you will be able to start by choosing a movie or by choosing the theater you wish to attend. You will then see a list of theaters playing that movie in that format, or a list of movies playing at that theater in that format. From there, you can see which dates meet those criteria, and then to the showtimes, where you can make your plans and purchase your tickets.
