You now have the ability to search for Open Caption presentations anywhere in the United States using our Open Caption Presentations search!

When we improved our Advanced Search tool earlier this month, it allowed us to add more searches in the future and make them available to all our readers. This addition is the first of a series of new advanced searches we have planned.

Open Caption presentations display the captions for the dialog on the screen for all to see. No additional equipment is necessary. On-screen captions aren't just for those who are D/deaf and hard of hearing, they can be useful to anyone that prefers to see the dialogue on the screen in order to better understand what is happening.

At the time of this article's writing, there are 47 movies being shown with Open Captions at 632 movie theaters around the United States. You can search by movie or by theater, and see the dates for which Open Caption presentations are being shown for that movie/theater.

For example, if you are interested in seeing Barbie with Open Captions, you can find all the theaters playing it that way. Likewise, you can see a list of movies playing with Open Captions at the AMC Century City 15 in Los Angeles.

As always, the Open Caption presentations are shown in our showtimes listings. Every theater designates it a little differently, so look for "Open Caption" or "OC" as the most common designations beneath the showtimes. See the screenshot below for an example of how the designation appears for one theater.
