After almost eighteen years of showing movies, the Showcase Cinema de Lux Patriot Place in Foxboro, Massachusetts will be closing its doors.

The theater is operated by National Amusements under the Showcase Cinemas de Lux brand. According to an article published recently by Boston 25 News (see below), a Showcase Cinemas spokesperson said that the theater will close in "early 2026."

Located adjacent to Gillette Stadium on Route 1 in the Patriot Place shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, the movie theater opened August 5, 2008. It debuted a then-new amenity for movie theaters: in-theater dining, which National Amusements said at the time would allow guests " to indulge themselves with luscious meals, snacks, and cocktails before and during the show."

No reason was given for the upcoming closure of the theater. National Amusements recently closed the Providence Place Cinemas 16 & IMAX in Providence, Rhode Island. Whereas that location has a new operator already lined up, nothing has been announced for the Foxboro movie theater.

Showtimes and Tickets

The movie theater will be open until at least the beginning of the year, but "early" could mean anything between January 1 and June 30 (if you really wanted to stretch the definition of the word). After the theater closes, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Route One Cinema Pub in North Attleboro and the Showcase Cinema de Lux North Attleboro in North Attleborough.
