The Warehouse Cinemas in Frederick, Maryland is now open to the public.

The new movie theater opened to the public on Friday, September 4, 2020, and features ten screens, all with 4K Digital Cinema projection systems, and one is equipped with a Dolby Atmos sound system. The auditoriums do not have traditional stadium seating, but rather the powered recliners appear to be on a sloped floor and the screen is raised and then slanted forward at the top. We're not quite sure how this works in regards to maintaining focus but it's a novel approach, to our knowledge.

The theater's website states that a full menu of food choices will be available soon, including gourmet gilled cheese and fries, flatbread pizza, appetizers, sweet treats including fried Oreos and warm chocolate chip cookies. Traditional popcorn and beverages are available now, as well as a selection of 32 craft beers and ciders on tap.

Located next to the Home Depot on West Patrick Street just east of Frederick Highway (Highway 15), the theater is in the same location last occupied by the Hoyts Frederick Towne Mall 10, which closed in 2011. The nearest movie theater is the Regal Westview Stadium 16 & IMAX, about three miles southeast in the Westview Promenade shopping center.

Ticket prices for a matinee start at $10 for adults and $9 for children, and a 10:30pm show in the Atmos-equipped house will run $16 and $15, respectively. For more details, please see the Ticket Prices page for the theater.
