The movie theater in Fulton, Missouri has a new operator, effective Monday, February 3, 2025.
The Fulton Cinema 8 has been operated by B & B Theatres since it opened in 2006. The Missouri-based company has a long history in the state, with the original downtown theater being the first location that the Bills and Bagby families (the "B & B" in the company's name) owned together.
The change was announced in mid-January with a press release issued by the company:
B&B Theatres, the fifth-largest cinema chain in North America, today announces an agreement with RT Entertainment to take over operations at the Fulton Cinema 8 in Fulton, MO. The transition will take place on February 3rd, 2025, after which the theater will continue operating as an independent movie theater.
“Fulton holds a unique and cherished place in our company’s history,” said Bob Bagby, CEO of B&B Theatres. “The old Downtown Theatre in Fulton was the first theatre the Bagby and Bills families owned together, purchased from Wehrenberg Theatres in 1980. While this decision was not made lightly, we believe transitioning the space to a new operator is the best way to ensure its continued service to the community. The fact that it remains operational and in service to Fulton moviegoers is of critical importance to us.”
The new operator is Kansas-based RT Entertainment Inc., which operates six locations in five states.
