Greenville, NC: Work Continues on Golden Ticket Cinemas - Greenville Grande 14, Partial Opening Planned for Late January

Posted on Thursday, January 18, 2024 11:01 AM

'Opening Soon' sign

The opening of the Golden Ticket Cinemas - Greenville Grande 14 in Greenville, North Carolina has been delayed, but the owners are hoping for a late January 2024 opening date. The movie theater was formerly known as the Regal Greenville Grande, which closed in September 2022 after parent company Cineworld filed for bankruptcy.

Located on Greenville Boulevard SW just west of South Memorial Drive, the theater will be operated by Golden Ticket Cinemas, which operates nineteen locations around the country, including the Golden Ticket Cinemas - Golden Ticket Cinemas 7 in Washington, which is about 20 miles away. The company recently completed work and opened the Golden Ticket Cinemas - Ale House + Elite in Greensboro on December 15, 2023.

In December, we reported that the company was still saying on its website that the theater would opening in "December 2023" but that goal has lapsed with the onset of the new year. That message has been removed, with no update to take its place. An article published earlier this month by WNCT (see list below) interviewed company officials, who are saying that a partial opening is planned for late January.

They are aiming to open six auditoriums, including an "Elite Auditorium," which is the company's premium format with a bigger screen and heated seats. An additional six auditoriums are planned to open in the following month, followed by the IMAX auditorium 3-4 months after that.

To see what's playing and when, keep an eye on the Showtimes page for the Golden Ticket Cinemas - Greenville Grande 14 for updates!

Until then, the AMC Fire Tower 12 is only three miles away and showtimes are already available for through next week and beyond.
