Hampton, VA: EVO Entertainment - Hampton Opening May 27, 2022

The EVO Entertainment - Hampton in Hampton, Virginia will be opening May 27, 2022, just in time for the release of Top Gun: Maverick.

Located in the Peninsula Town Center near the interchange of I64 and West Mercury Boulevard, the theater was previously known as the Studio Movie Grill - Hampton. That theater closed in January 2021 following the bankruptcy of Studio Movie Grill.

The theater originally opened in 2010 as the Cobb CineBistro at Peninsula Town Center (Cobb Theatres). It became the Phoenix Theatres Peninsula Movie Bistro (Phoenix Theatres Entertainment, LLC) in 2017. Studio Movie Grill took over in 2019.

According to the EVO Entertainment website, the eight-screen movie theater will have the following amenities:

  • In-Theater Dining
  • Recliner Seating
  • Restaurant & Bar
  • Bowling Lanes
  • Video Arcade
  • Free WiFi
  • Private Event Space & Meeting Rooms

This is the first Virginia location for EVO Entertainment, which operates ten theaters in Texas under the EVO Entertainment and EVO Cinemas brands and seven locations in Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma under the ShowBiz Cinemas brand.

Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Cinema Cafe - Riverdale - Hampton and the AMC Hampton Towne Centre 24 in Hampton.
