The Landmark River Oaks Theatre in Houston, Texas closed in 2021, but movies are expected to be playing again on its three screens in October under the name River Oaks Theatre.

According to an article published recently by KIAH (see below), the movie theater will reopen October 3, 2024. It will be operated by Culinary Khancepts, an affiliate of Star Cinema Grill. Its grand opening will coincide with the release of Joker: Folie a Deux, as well as showings of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - 50th Anniversary and others.

The River Oaks Theatre originally was opened in November 1939 by the Interstate Theatre chain. It was operated by Landmark Theatres starting in 1976, which converted it to a three-screen location in 1986. In 2013, it was recognized by the Houston Press as one of Houston's Top 10 Movie Theaters. Landmark continued to operate it until its closing in March 2021.
