It looks like the Cinemark Monaco in Huntsville, Alabama is finally getting the upgrades that were announced in May 2019. At the time, they were planning to have the upgrades done by the Winter Holiday movie season.

According to an article published recently on al.com, six of the fourteen screens opened in February with Cinemark's "Luxury Lounger" powered reclining seats. The seven remaining auditoriums are currently closed and getting new seats, which will debut in mid-April. (Those doing the math will notice that we missed one screen. We believe that is the auditorium that is being converted to their XD premium format offering.)

The concession stand and lobby areas are getting upgraded, and the restaurant will be converted into a Cinemark Movie Bistro:

"Our restaurant will convert into a Cinemark Movie Bistro," [Bryan Jeffries, vice president of marketing and promotions for Cinemark Holdings] said. "Plans for that are still being discussed, but we hope to begin that project after the Loungers are all in place in the building."

The article mentions that the XD auditorium is expected to be completed in late March.

When the changes are done, we'll likely see a name change to at least attach the "XD" moniker.
