The B & B Twin Drive-In in Independence, Missouri will be closing at the end of the 2024 season.

Located about thirteen miles east of Kansas City at the corner of Highway 291 and Kentucky Road, the drive-in dates back to 1965. It's currently operated by B & B Theatres and is the company's only dedicated drive-in.

The company announced on the theater's Facebook page recently that the theater's last day of operation will be November 17, 2024:

ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of the historic TWIN Drive-In Theatre in Independence, MO on November 17.

After decades of bringing joy, laughter, and memories to our community, we are unable to reach a feasible agreement with the property’s landlord, whose rent demands have become unsustainable for continued operation.

While we are deeply disappointed, we want to thank our loyal guests for the many unforgettable nights under the stars

Your support has meant the world to us, and we will always cherish the legacy of the TWIN as we know many of you will.

We hope you’ll join us between now and the 17th for our final nights of movies, memories, and gratitude as we say goodbye to a beloved icon of Independence!

You have until November 17 to see a movie here, so find out what's playing and when by visiting the Showtimes page for the B & B Twin Drive-In. After that date, the next closest drive-in is the Boulevard Drive-In Theatre across the border in Kansas City, Kansas along I-35.

With winter weather coming up, watching movies outside is coming to a close, so moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Pharaoh Cinema 4 and the AMC Independence Commons 20 in Independence.
