Mark Wahlberg's upcoming scifi/fantasy movie, Infinite, was supposed to open in theaters September 24, 2021 will be heading online instead of theaters.

It will now debut on Paramount's streaming service Paramount+ in June.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the movie was originally scheduled to be released in theaters last August, but then was rescheduled to this Memorial Day, and then it was bumped to September.

For Evan McCauley (Mark Wahlberg), skills he has never learned and memories of places he has never visited haunt his daily life. Self-medicated and on the brink of a mental breakdown, a secret group that call themselves 'Infinites' come to his rescue, revealing to him that his memories are real – but they are from multiple past lives. The Infinites bring Evan into their extraordinary world, where a gifted few are given the ability to be reborn with their memories and knowledge accumulated over centuries. With critical secrets buried in his past, Evan must work with the Infinites to unlock the answers in his memories in a race against time to save humanity from one of their own (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who seeks to destroy it.

This change comes at a time when studios are scrambling to fill theaters with a backlog of releases, while also trying to bolster their streaming services as well. Paramount+ is very light on movie releases of any vintage, and this move will help them with that as well as provide their service with some original and fresh content.
