The former Regal Jackson Cinema in Jackson, California hasn't shown movies since October 2020, and its prospects for reopening disappeared when Regal removed the movie theater from its website in/around June 2021.

Moviegoers in the area have had to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Angels Theatre in Angels Camp and the Regal El Dorado Hills & IMAX in El Dorado Hills. However, those theaters are more than 20 miles away, so it's good news that the movie theater will be reopening soon!

Located south of downtown Jackson on the Golden Chain Highway, the Jackson Cinemas is D'Place will be operated by D'Place Entertainment, which has five other locations across California.

According to some recent articles published by the Ledger Dispatch (see below), the city council approved a $7,000 grant to help the company reopen the theater. D'Place Entertainment intends to open the theater by the end of November. Their plans include installing recliner seating, adding new food options, as well as beer and wine.
