The Regal Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida hasn't shown movies since October 2020, and now it appears that movies will never be shown at this location again.

The last time we received showtimes updates for the theater was October 8, 2020, when Regal closed several locations after reopening them amid the coronavirus pandemic. When that happened, the fate of those locations were in doubt, and their ultimate destinies are becoming clear as more and more theaters reopen in hopes of a successful summer movie season.

According to an article in the Jacksonville Daily Record, the Jacksonville City Council approved a bill recently to rezone the property, which will allow for multifamily development (apartments).

Jan 5, 2022 Update: An application has been submitted to demolish the property in preparation for apartments to be developed.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Cinemark Jacksonville Atlantic North and XD, the Cinemark Tinseltown and XD, and the AMC Regency 24 in Jacksonville. The closest Regal location is the Regal Avenues 4DX & RPX, which is about ten miles away.
