Construction continues on the B & B Joplin 8 in Joplin, Missouri, but its opening date is still not certain. We first published news of the new movie theater in March 2024 when the building permit was issued.

Located on the southeast corner of 32nd Street and Hammons Boulevard, the movie theater will be part of a new development called 32nd Street Place, which will include a Menards home improvement store and new apartments. The theater is owned by Woodsonia Real Estate and will be operated by Missouri-based B & B Theatres. The exhibitor is the fifth-largest in the United States more than 50 locations in sixteen states.

When it opens, the movie theater will offer guests amenities familiar to those who attend other B & B Theatres locations, including the B & B Neosho Cinema 6 in Neosho. Those amenities should include large screen formats, reclining seats, MX4D motion seats, a Marquee Bar & Grille, Outtakes Arcade, and outdoor lawn games on a large patio.

Until it opens, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Regal Northstar and the Route 66 Movie Theater.
