The GQT Lafayette 7 in Lafayette, Indiana closed "for renovations" in September 2022, but it now appears to be closed permanently after disappearing from GQT's website.

Located in Lafayette Market Place shopping center on Sagamore Parkway South and McCarty Lane, the movie theater announced on September 4, 2022 that it was closing for "fall cleaning." On September 23, it announced that it was "currently working on renovations to better serve you." On October 20, the theater's Facebook page announced that the renovations were seating-related.

As recently as March 10, 2023, the theater responded to a Facebook message about its reopening by saying, "... at this time we do not have a date set for reopening. We will post when a decision is made!" Considering that information, and that this location is no longer listed on the GQT Movies website, we have deactivated the theater from our site.

According to our records, the theater originally opened November 25, 1998 as the Goodrich Lafayette 7. Goodrich Quality Theaters, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy just before the coronavirus pandemic closed all theaters in March 2020. The theater was purchased by a partnership that became known as GQT Movies, along with 21 other Goodrich locations in July 2020.

Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the GQT Eastside 10 IMAX, the GQT Wabash Landing 9 in West Lafayette, and the Devon Theatre in Attica.
