The Wharf Cinema Center on Front Street in Lahaina, Hawaii hasn't had a cinema since the Regal Wharf Cinema Center 3 closed in January 2020, but that's changed with the reopening of the movie theater with new ownership and a new name!

The Regency Wharf Cinemas is now open after what MauiNow reports was an extensive remodel:

The ceiling to floor remodel of the three-screen theater features reserved seating, concessions, high back rocking chairs, and velvet drapes.  There’s also Christie Digital Projection with Dolby Cinema Sound, Wall to Wall Screens, and all new air conditioning.

The theater is being operated by Regency Theatres, which also operates the Regency Kihei Cinemas and also has locations in Arizona, California, and Nevada.

Until now, moviegoers in the area needed to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Consolidated Theatres Ka'ahumanu 6 in Kahului and the Regal Maui Mall Megaplex 12 in Kahului.
