Movies will be returning to the Lakewood Center shopping mall in Lakewood, California, according to information from the theater chain that will be operating the new movie theater. The Starlight  Lakewood Center is expected to open in Summer 2023, and will be in the same building as the former Pacific Theatres Lakewood Center 16, which closed in 2021 when Pacific Theatres announced that it would be closing all its locations permanently.

Located along Lakewood Boulevard less than two miles south of Artesia Freeway, the theater will be operated by Starlight Cinemas, which operates five other locations in California. The company announced recently that it will be opening a location in Rancho Cucamonga this summer as well.

We don't know exactly when it will open yet, but keep an eye on the Showtimes page for the Starlight Theatres - Lakewood Center for updates! Until then, moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Harkins Cerritos 16 in Cerritos and the Regal Edwards Long Beach Stadium 26 & IMAX in Long Beach.
