The Grand Opening celebration for the Carmike Ovation Cinema Grill 11 in Lawrenceville, Georgia will be held on December 8, 2016. According to the theater's Facebook page, they had a soft opening between Sunday, December 4th and Tuesday, December 5th:

Hello, food lovers and movie goers, we are opening up Sunday, December 4th for Soft Opening until Tuesday, December 6th. All tickets will be $3. We will have a day off Wednesday and having the Grand Opening Thursday, December 8th!

We expect to receive showtimes for the theater soon, so keep an eye on the Showtimes page for updates!

Details are a little scarce right now, but we do know that one of the eleven auditoriums will be Carmike's BigD large-screen auditoriums. The Ovation Cinema Grill brand signifies that they will be offering in-theater dining and beverage service with luxury seating.

The theater's official web site does list the following amenities:

• Full-service cinematic dining experience
• Seat-side food and beverage service
• Oversized, electric reclining luxury seats
• Reserved seating
• Over 100 premium food and beverage selections
• Cocktail lounge - full service bar
• Featuring BigD large screen -- over 70' wide and three stories tall

This will be Carmike's fifth Ovation Cinema Grill location. Other locations include Bloomington, Illinois, Midlothian, Virginia, Athens, Georgia, and Holly Springs, North Carolina. The closest competitors for the new theater are the Carmike 12 - Snellville , the Regal Snellville Oaks Stadium 14, and the AMC Colonial 18., but they all appear to be traditional movie theaters. As far as we can tell, closest theater that offers the in-theater dining experience offered by the Ovation Cinema Grill is the Studio Movie Grill - Duluth, which is about eight miles away.
