The Mahoning Valley Cinema in Lehighton, Pennsylvania closed September 14, 2023.
Located southwest of town, the eight-screen movie theater originally opened in December 1995. It closed in 2020 and reopened in 2021 under the management of FunTime Cinemas. The following message was posted in late August on the theater's Facebook page:
Notice: We will be permanently closing September 14, 2023,
Passes can be used on any title until the 14th.
Gift cards can be used until the 14th.
Additional information regarding refunds for unused gift card balances will be posted later this week here and on our website.
FunTime Cinemas continues to operate three other theaters in Pennsylvania.
Moviegoers in the area will need to visit one of the other nearby theaters, including the Mahoning Drive-in Theater in Lehighton, Becky's Drive-In Theatre in Walnutport, and the Roxy Theatre in Northampton.
