Life is Too Short to Watch Movies, or Basketball, on a Small TV -- Check Out These Options!

Life is short. Too short to watch movies, or basketball games for that matter, on a small TV. The best time to upgrade is when the need arises and when the prices are good. This is both of those times!

Bigscreen TVs have never been cheaper overall, so the value found in just about any decent new TV is pretty high. That also means that buying the highest performing set you can has never been easier, so you can either try to squeeze as much performance at the cheapest price, or throw some caution to the wind, and go for the best you can afford.

I think there's logic to both approaches, and your choice is a personal one. We're here to provide you with some options to consider and we're offering personal consultations for the first time!

Taking the High Road with OLED

Conventional wisdom, as well as most review sites, says that the best quality TV technology is OLED. If you've never seen an OLED TV, it's truly a sight to behold. Because OLED pixels are self-lit (not back-lit), blacks are truly black, making watching your favorite space-based action movie or classic Black & White movie a new experience in contrast. With Dolby Vision HDR video, you get the color, contrast, and brightness that comes with high dynamic range!

While OLED TVs are the most expensive, you get what you pay for. Fortunately, you don't have to pay all that much for some really awesome performance!

Gift Shop merchant Amazon.com is currently pricing the 65" LG OLED 4K evo C4 at $1500, which is less than Black Friday pricing! We're big fans of Sony's Bravia OLED sets, and the 65" OLED 4K Ultra HD TV BRAVIA 8 is currently $1598, which is also less than it was on Black Friday.

The C4 series of LG OLED televisions have a 4.5 out of 5 star rating, and the Sony Bravias have a 4.1 out of 5, so your fellow Amazon shoppers definitely like their performance and value. The difference may well come down to whether you like LG's operating system or the XR processor and Google operating system used by the Sony TVs.

Looking for a Different Size?

Our recommendation is literally in our name. Feel free to go as big as you can or right-size your choice for your room. 65" is often the sweet spot for most living rooms, but if you can imagine a 75 or 80+ inch display in your space, have at it!

Going for the Best Bang for the Buck

Stepping back from OLED will save you money, at the expense of some performance. It's up to you where you want that balance to land.

Sticking with Sony and its XR processor but setting aside OLED, the 65" X90L is currently $948. Going up to 75" will cost you $1,298, and there are other sizes for various prices as well.

This TCL 75" class 4K TV has Roku built-in, and has 4.4 out of 5 stars from more than 4,500 reviews at just $745. Going down to a 65" brings the price down to $539.

If you prefer Amazon's Fire Stick Smart TV functionality over Roku, the Toshiba 65" C350 is $340. and has a 4.4 rating from nearly 400 reviews. TCL plays the Fire TV game as well, with their 75" S5 model going for $480 and the 65" model is just $340.

If you have a wall that you never want to paint (or see) again, you can get the 98" Sony X90L with Bravia XR for just under $4,500. To save some cash, you can opt for a Hisense 99.5" or TCL 98" TV for between $1,500-$2,000, which is amazing to consider. Will the quality be as good as the best TVs out there? Probably not, but it will be impressive and think of the money you'll save on paint!

There are so many models to choose from, you're sure to find something that meets your budget and your desire for a big screen for your room. Take a look at the entire Televisions section on Amazon to see what's available.

These deals are subject to availability and may not be around for long, so if you're in the market for a great TV, now is the time to make that purchase!
